International New Year Celebration (2026-2027)


As with all new years, we want everyone to be blessed and protected for 2027!

Thursday 12.31.26 @ 6:30 pm — It starts with ordination of white-clothed men and women, who take on the 8 precepts.

  1. To not kill

  2. To not steal

  3. To be celibate

  4. To not speak untruthfully

  5. To not indulge in intoxicants

  6. To eat at the proper time (with in the hours of sunrise to high-noon)

  7. To not indulge in entertainment & beautifying the body with jewelry, cosmetics, and scents

  8. To avoid sleeping & sitting on high and luxurious beds and chairs

Thursday 12.31.26 @ 7:00 pm — Evening Chanting along with Chanting of Buddha’s First Sermon.

Monks will bless with Parittas (small protection blessings) Gāthās (poetic protection blessings).

Thursday 12.31.26 @ 8:30 pm — Dhamma Sermons by monks of the Saṅgha along with meditation.

Thursday 12.31.26 @ 11:00 pm — Recital of the Dhajagga Paritta 108 times aka The Great Ītipiso 108 leading into the midnight countdown.

Friday 01.01.27 @ 9:00 am — early-bird piṇḍapāta “thak baht” (aka. alms bowl giving)

Friday 01.01.27 @ 10:30 am — Formal ceremonial offering of foods and sundries to the Monastic Saṅgha followed by Dhamma ☸ sermon.

Friday 01.01.27 @ 11:30 am — monastic lunch of alms food.

Friday 01.01.27 @ 12:00 pm — open lunch with all laity

Friday 01.01.27 @ 1:00 pm — Laity helping each other clean up
